The first 4 round has ended, and the NCAA Tournament has just begun! This tournament has been as exciting as ever so far, with USC coming back from 17 to beat Providence, and Middle Tennessee knocking of Minnesota. Here are some of the highlights of the 2017 tournament, but make sure to remember, so far.
Try, Try Again
Although the First Four in the Ncaa Tournament is not paid attention to at all, one game in this round was pretty exciting. Providence vs USC started out rocky, very rocky, for the Trojans of South. Cal., but turned out amazing. USC was down by 17 at one point in the 2nd half, but this young team stayed resilient, and unthinkably pulled out the victory, 75 to 71.
Never Forget Cinderella
Oh, Middle Tennessee. Was it an upset or was it meant to be. One thing is for sure, Mid. Tenn. is a darn good team. This was on full display when the 11th seeded Blue Raiders beat the 5th seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers in a so called 'upset,' 81 to 72. All I know is that it won't be too surprising if the Blue Raiders can pull off another 'upset' against the 4th seeded Butler Bulldogs.
Close Calls!
There were many close calls this week, but none stood out more than Michigan vs OSU and SMU vs oh, them again, USC. Michigan against OSU was knotted up for most of the game, being 41 to 40 in Michigan's favor at the end of the first half. The game stayed like this throughout the game, but Michigan won by the same difference they led at halftime with, 1 point. As for the other game, between SMU and now fan-favorite USC, it was just like the Trojans previous game. USC thought its NCAA hopes were over when they were down by 1o points with 11 and a half minutes left, but the Trojans fought back again and Elijah Stewart buried a 3 with 36 seconds left to give the Trojans another W.
Wait, There's more
Although there have already been spectacular games, the NCAA Tournament has just started. This tourny should be one for the ages, and make sure to keep your eye on big matchups.
